Josalyn is all about music. She sings. She writes songs. She’s in a band. She belonged to a choir troupe as a child and studied popular and commercial music studies in college.
Like many musicians before her, Josalyn dreamed of moving to LA. After a rough start in Santa Cruz at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, she had to leave California and return to her childhood home in Boston. Still determined to live out her dreams, Josalyn re-embarked on her mission. Ten months later, she landed in the city of angels, and she’s been here ever since.
For Josalyn, living in Los Angeles gives her endless inspiration. Amidst settling into Hollywood and rebranding herself as an artist, Josalyn also founded the Snazzie Series, an LA-based benefit concert for musicians to perform and raise money for charity. When one of her family members passed away from mental illness, Josalyn felt called to help others.
She redefined Snazzie to mean caring, creative, brave, and bold, building a community for those who want to make a difference. Josalyn led the charge by launching her first benefit concert in January 2024 at the Durango Cantina in West Hollywood. She welcomed over 50 guests and donated the proceeds to the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
By the end of last year, Josalyn and her team produced four benefit concerts. In 2025, Josalyn hopes to imbue the snazzie spirit in more people. With an estimated 7 concerts in the works and a potential festival on the rise, there’s no doubt that for Josalyn, the Snazzie Series will be another dream come true.
